I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience providing individual and group therapy services. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, addiction, life transitions, and adjustment to chronic health conditions. To ensure I provide the most effective treatment, I have pursued extensive training in evidenced-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT), and Motivational Interviewing, which assists individuals in addressing ambivalence related to making changes around their alcohol/substance use or other addictive behaviors. Additionally, I incorporate Positive Psychology interventions aimed at fostering well-being and optimal living.
While my primary focus is providing science-based or "known to work" treatments, I also believe validation, compassion, and a strong therapeutic relationship are essential to effective therapy. I meet my clients “where they are at” and approach the client-therapist relationship with unconditional acceptance and non-judgmental support. I prioritize a strength-based approach. Together, we will identify your unique values and strengths and develop tools and skills to cultivate a meaningful life even during challenging times. I am committed to being flexible and responsive to the unique needs of each individual. Together, we will collaboratively establish goals and regularly assess our progress to ensure that therapy remains beneficial and effective. I take great pleasure in working with clients across the lifespan, from adolescents to older adults, and I warmly welcome individuals from all backgrounds and identities into my practice.
A note on my approach to addiction treatment:
While I can certainly support individuals seeking abstinence, my approach is flexible and accommodates goals focused on moderation, exploring change in usage patterns, or making adjustments to substance use or addictive behaviors in order to improve overall quality of life - whether or not complete abstinence is the immediate goal.
