I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience treating individuals with a wide range of concerns. My areas of expertise include PTSD, recovery after trauma, sexual assault, and other stressful life events, anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, difficulty managing overwhelming emotions, problems related to impulsivity, suicidal thoughts, challenges with relationships, and adjustment during life or career transitions. I have specialized training in dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and exposure and response prevention.
I believe the foundation for therapy is deep understanding of your experience as well as a strong therapeutic relationship. From our first meeting, I will work to gain your trust so you feel comfortable and safe exploring the challenges in your life. I focus on thoroughly understanding and validating who you are, your history, and your experience. Additionally, my approach is grounded in evidence-based therapy and tailored uniquely to each individual client. I see therapy as a collaborative process, beginning with supporting clients in identifying their personal goals and discovering the life they most want to live. We will work together to understand what is currently getting in the way of achieving those goals and then integrate evidence-based treatments, strategies, and skills to move you towards that life you envision for yourself. It is common to feel hopeless and stuck when beginning therapy, but change is possible. Throughout my work as a therapist, I have been struck by the resilience of my clients, their ability to overcome the seemingly unendurable, find a path out of suffering, and discover a more meaningful life connected to their values and strengths. You can do this too and I will be there to support you every step of the way. Let’s get to work!
