I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have worked extensively with clients in both individual and group psychotherapy over the past 20 years. My areas of expertise include the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, trauma, emotional distress, interpersonal issues, and life transitions. I have specialized training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT), Behavior Therapy and Skills Training, Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
I approach therapy from the recovery model and view our relationship as collaborative. Culture, learning history, experiences, and values shape each individual and these are important to explore and understand throughout therapy. We will work together to identify your treatment goals and approach treatment from a strengths-based perspective. I firmly believe awareness and understanding are the first steps towards recovery and mental wellness. Building a strong rapport is quite important in therapy, and together we will work to build a solid foundation as we incorporate psychological interventions. Above all, therapy is meant to enhance your life so that it is meaningful and sustainable. Together, we will define what this looks like for you and our work will bring you closer to these goals.
